Omega 3’s

Rhonda Patrick published bullishly on Omega 3’s (polyunsaturated fats), comprised of ALA (alpha-Linolenic acid), EPA, DHA. Rhonda highlighted the list of beneficial health effects of omega-3s: “Although the case for omega-3s and heart health has been building, inconsistencies in study designs have muddied the water” she wrote.

“The analysis revealed that high blood concentrations of omega-3s may reduce the risk of dying from all causes of premature death by as much as 17 percent. Even more compelling: High blood concentrations of these essential nutrients may reduce the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease by as much as 21 percent”

Background:

  • The brain is composed of a significant amount of fat, a large proportion of which consists of the long-chain omega−3s eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Therefore, it has been suggested that intake of EPA and DHA may improve brain function.

  • Every membrane of every cell is formulated with fatty acids and is made up of a unique suite of fatty acids depending on the type of tissue.

  • There is almost 300 times more DHA in the brain than EPA. So we should be taking lots of DHA every day, right? Nope.

Dosage and testing:

  • When you read the label you might see a 2,000 mg pill of fish oil but it’s not uncommon for only 80% of that to be EPA and DHA

  • What is the other 20%?- A mixture of some monounsaturates and some polyunsaturates just again, a general standard fatty acids you’d find in most foods.

  • There is a blood test that can be done to show the percentage of what percentage is EPA, DHA, total saturates, total monounsaturates, etc. that are in the red blood cell membranes

Sleep + Cardiovascular Disease

There is a global experiment that is performed on 1.6 billion people across 70 countries, twice a year, and it's called daylight savings time. And what we've seen is that in the spring, when we lose an hour of sleep, there is a subsequent 24% relative increased risk for heart attacks that following day. In the fall, when we gain an hour of sleep opportunity, there is a 21% reduction in heart attacks that follow.

Sleep fitness is more important than ever. We now have access to the latest science that is proving the risks associated with sleep deprivation and one of the biggest ones is Cardiovascular Disease (CVD).

This graph below shows sleep duration as a risk factor for CVD. The study showed that short sleep duration imposed on a group of healthy subjects increased sympathetic nervous system activity and blood pressure elevation.

Therefore sustained short sleep duration could lead to adverse cardiovascular consequence.

Health Fraud

Fake COVID-19 vaccination cards are not a myth. More than 150 million Americans have been handed a small white card with a federal logo showing that they’ve been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In some areas, that card is required to get into concerts, sporting events and workplaces.

But the cards can easily be fabricated by fraudsters and are being sold to people who don’t want to get vaccinated but want to show a record that they have been.

Tangtang Zhao, 34, of Chicago, sold 125 authentic CDC vaccination cards to 11 different buyers for approximately $10 per card. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

“We take seriously, and will vigorously investigate, any criminal offense that contributes to the distrust around vaccines and vaccination status,” said Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite Jr. of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “The Department of Justice and its law enforcement partners are committed to protecting the American people from these offenses during this national emergency.”

Juli A. Mazi, 41, of Napa, is charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of false statements related to health care matters. The case is the first federal criminal fraud prosecution related to homeoprophylaxis immunizations and fraudulent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 vaccination record cards.

“This defendant allegedly defrauded and endangered the public by preying on fears and spreading misinformation about FDA-authorized vaccinations, while also peddling fake treatments that put people’s lives at risk. Even worse, the defendant allegedly created counterfeit COVID-19 vaccination cards and instructed her customers to falsely mark that they had received a vaccine, allowing them to circumvent efforts to contain the spread of the disease,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco.
